Basketball Recap: Mammoth Comes Up Short

Mammoth lost against California City back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mammoth Huskies had to suffer through a 87-26 loss at the hands of the California City Ravens.

It was another big night for Cassius 'Hollywood' Brown, who went 12 of 22 on his way to 26 points and four steals for California City. Brown's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery 'Skywalker' Spears, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 13 points and three blocks.

Mammoth's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for California City, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mammoth will venture away from home to face off against Desert at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for California City, they will head out to square off against Bishop Union at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
