Recap: Grantsville Cowboys vs. Ogden Tigers
The Grantsville Cowboys pushed their score all the way to 58 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 68-58 to Ogden. Grantsville was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Ogden apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Grantsville lost, one person who can't be blamed is Bryson Roberts. Despite the final result, he scored nine points along with five steals. Roberts has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Decker Dzierzon was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
Stockton Marriott continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Ogden, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten assists. Marriott is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Teegan Porter, who scored 12 points along with five assists and three steals.
Grantsville has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Ogden, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-5.
Grantsville will head out on the road to face off against Union at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Union is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Ogden, they will be playing at home against Morgan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Morgan knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully Ogden likes a good challenge.
