Softball Recap: West Stanly Extends Winning Streak to Three

While West Stanly's win against North Brunswick wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Colts sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Scorpions on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Colts sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Madi Whitley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Payton Watson was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs and one double. Another player making a difference was Laney Tucker, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

West Stanly's record now sits at 19-3. As for North Brunswick, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.

West Stanly does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Brunswick, they will head out on the road to challenge Laney at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
