Softball Recap: West Stanly's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

While West Stanly's win against North Brunswick wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Colts won by a run and slipped past the Scorpions 6-5. Winning may never get old, but the Colts sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Madi Whitley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, West Stanly got a big performance out of Payton Watson, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one double. Laney Tucker was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

West Stanly pushed their record up to 19-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for North Brunswick, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.

West Stanly wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 4-1 win against Parkwood on the 30th. As for North Brunswick, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-4 defeat against West Brunswick on the 23rd.
