Volleyball Recap: Madison Comes Up Short

Madison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the East Alton-Wood River Oilers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Madison's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for East Alton-Wood River, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4-1.

Madison has already played their next game (against Dupo), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for East Alton-Wood River, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Southwestern on the 2nd.
