Softball Recap: Lasalle-Peru Picks Up 12th Straight Win at Home

LaSalle-Peru hadn't done well against Sterling recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Cavaliers put the hurt on the Golden Warriors with a sharp 11-4 victory. Considering the Cavaliers have won 13 contests by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

LaSalle-Peru pushed their record up to 29-4 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home. As for Sterling, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 18-9.

Coming up, LaSalle-Peru will face off against Streator at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.65 runs per game on average), something the Cavaliers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Sterling, they are taking a road trip to challenge Metamora at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
