Baseball Recap: Northfield Comes Up Short

Northfield was the 12-3 winner over Eastern when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Norsemen came up short against the Comets on Friday, falling 14-3. The Norsemen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ty Leming made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Korbin Haupert, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Northfield's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Eastern, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Comets beat Northfield by a score of 12-2 later that day.
