Football Recap: Mount Juliet Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Mount Juliet Christian Academy had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-5 to make it six. They had to suffer through a 71-6 loss at the hands of the Nashville Christian Eagles. The contest marked the Saints' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Austin Norwood threw for 80 yards and one touchdown. Romel Anderson was his top target, picking up 82 receiving yards and one TD.

As for Nashville Christian, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.9 points on average over those games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Nashville Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than TJ Ward, who rushed for 81 yards and three scores. Ward is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Kaden Grigsby was in the mix too, providing Nashville Christian with two TDs.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Juliet Christian Academy will take on Donelson Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last. As for Nashville Christian, they will face off against Franklin Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Falcons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.8 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
