Basketball Game Preview: Union Bears vs. Graham G-Men

The Union Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Graham G-Men at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Union heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Monday. They took a 56-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Abingdon. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 184th, while the Falcons are ranked 50th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Graham, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They managed a 36-30 win over Lebanon on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the G-Men in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now won six in a row.

Graham's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points over those games. As for Union, their loss dropped their record down to 7-16.

Everything came up roses for Union against Graham in their previous meeting back in December of 2018, as the squad secured a 69-36 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Union since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
