Softball Recap: Make It 11 in a Row for Oswego

Oswego barely beat Plainfield North the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Tuesday. Considering the Panthers have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Oswego let Natalie Muellner and Rikka Ludvigson run wild. Muellner went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double, while Ludvigson went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI Ludvigson has posted since back in May of 2024. Leah McKenzie also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

The victory keeps Oswego at an undefeated 10-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Plainfield North, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-10.

Looking ahead, Oswego will take on Lemont at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 1.5, the Lemont HS 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Plainfield North, they will square off against Oswego East at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.33 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
