Softball Recap: River Valley Triumphs

River Valley won the last time they faced Highland and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Vikings won by a run and slipped past the Fighting Scots 4-3.

Kylie Eastep spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, River Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sidney Street, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Emersyn Isom was another, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.

River Valley's record is now 13-4. As for Highland, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: River Valley beat the Fighting Scots by a score of 6-4 on Wednesday.
