Soccer Recap: Gwynedd Mercy Academy Takes a Loss

Gwynedd Mercy Academy and Archbishop Ryan pushed the score to 6-2 the last time they played Archbishop Ryan, but on Tuesday defenses reigned supreme. The Monarchs took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders and Ragdolls. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Gwynedd Mercy Academy came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while Archbishop Ryan are ranked 189th).

Gwynedd Mercy Academy's loss dropped their record down to 15-3-2. As for Archbishop Ryan, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7-3.

Coming up, Gwynedd Mercy Academy will host Haverford at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Archbishop Ryan, they will head out on the road to face off against Council Rock North at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
