Basketball Recap: Newman Takes a Loss

Newman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They fell 58-47 to the Assumption Royals. The Fighting Cardinals were probably out for revenge after losing 66-60 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Newman's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Assumption, their record now sits at 5-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newman will host Chequamegon at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Assumption, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Adams-Friendship at 7:15 p.m.
