Football Recap: Cornerstone Academy Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Cornerstone Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 54-0 loss at the hands of the Lakeside Christian Lions.

Darren Johnson threw for 63 yards on eight of 17 attempts. Luke Jernigan was his top target, picking up 56 receiving yards.

The victory got Lakeside Christian back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Cornerstone Academy will welcome Florida School for the Deaf & Blind at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The contest will give the Cougars their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Lakeside Christian, they are taking a road trip to take on Academy at the Lakes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
