Baseball Recap: Union City Triumphs

Union City hadn't done well against Youngsville recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Bears narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Eagles 2-1. This was payback for the Bears, who suffered a 10-5 loss the last time these two teams met.

Union City saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Shuman, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Those stolen bases marked the first that Shuman has snagged this season.

The win got Union City back to even at 2-2. As for Youngsville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Union City will head out on the road to challenge Jamestown at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Youngsville, they will host Northwestern at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
