Baseball Recap: Peninsula Takes a Loss

Peninsula lost against South back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Peninsula Panthers came up short against the South Spartans, falling 15-9. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by exactly six runs.

Alex Han stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 1-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Aaron Monzon also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Peninsula has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-3-1 record this season. South's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2.

When Peninsula and South next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Peninsula will try to stop Wiseburn- Da Vinci's four-game winning streak when they meet at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, South will square off against St. Bernard and their seven-game winning streak at 3:30 p.m. on March 17th.
