Baseball Recap: Floyd Comes Up Short

Floyd was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 22nd straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 20-4 to the Gateway Christian Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, with their most recent defeat being a 20-3 loss on Friday.

Archer Knox was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

Floyd's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Gateway Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Floyd will challenge rival Dora at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Gateway Christian is set to square off against their familiar foe Melrose at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
