Football Recap: Conard Falls to Shelton in First Game of Season

Conard unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 41-21 to the Shelton Gaels on Friday. The Red Wolves were down 31-7 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Cole StPierre had an outrageously good game for Shelton as he rushed for 180 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.6 yards per carry, and also picked up 30 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Conard has already played their next game, a 42-37 victory against Bristol Central on the 19th. As for Shelton, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 21-10 defeat against West Haven on the 19th.
