Basketball Recap: Elm Creek Comes Up Short

Elm Creek lost against Amherst back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Elm Creek Buffaloes received a blow as they fell 65-48 to the Amherst Broncos.

Despite the loss, Elm Creek still got an impressive performance from Quin Oberg, who went 10 for 23 to rack up 23 points and five assists. The game was Oberg's tenth in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Shoemaker, who posted six points and seven boards.

Elm Creek's loss dropped their record down to 17-3. As for Amherst, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

While Elm Creek had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
