Volleyball Recap: Ella Mizuta and Zulal Merdinian Secure Win for Belmont

There's no place like home for Belmont, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Wilmington Wildcats on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Marauders in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won eight in a row.

Belmont was led to victory by Zulal Merdinian and Ella Mizuta. Merdinian had nine digs and three aces, while Mizuta had six digs. That's the most digs Mizuta has posted over her last three matches. Lillian Shen also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Belmont was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 30 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

The victory got Belmont back to even at 7-7. As for Wilmington, they dropped their record down to 0-14 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Belmont didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Reading Memorial on the 14th. As for Wilmington, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Stoneham on the 14th.
