Clarksburg's loss ends four-game winning streak at home

Recap: Clarksburg Rockets vs. Middleton Tigers

The Clarksburg Rockets suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They took a serious blow against Middleton, falling 72-38. While losing is never fun, Clarksburg can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 332nd, while Middleton is ranked 106th).

Taquinis Mitchell was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals for Middleton. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mitchell has scored all season. Jordan Woody was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and two blocks.

Clarksburg's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-7. As for Middleton, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clarksburg will square off against West Carroll at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Middleton on the road again on Friday and play against Humboldt at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Humboldt will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
