Baseball Recap: Comanche Triumphs

The matchup between Comanche and Eastland on Friday hardly resembled the 2-1 effort from their previous meeting. The Indians sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 13-12 win over the Mavericks. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Indians' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Adrian Molina was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Comanche's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 3-14 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Jaxon Salinas, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Comanche is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-15 record this season. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for Eastland, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-16-1.

As of now, neither Comanche nor the Mavericks have any future games scheduled.
