Preview: Wellston Golden Rockets vs. Nelsonville-York Buckeyes
The Wellston Golden Rockets will head out on the road to take on the Nelsonville-York Buckeyes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
Last Tuesday, Wellston took a serious blow against Waterford, falling 63-24. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wellston has scored all season.
In what's become a running theme this season, Nelsonville-York gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 74-43 win over Alexander at home.
Keagan Swope was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Landen Inman, who scored 12 points along with five assists.
Wellston's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Nelsonville-York, their win bumped their record up to 12-8.
Wellston suffered a grim 67-46 defeat to Nelsonville-York in their previous meeting back in January. Can Wellston avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
