Volleyball Recap: Parkway Central Takes Down Parkway North in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Parkway Central rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past the Parkway North Vikings 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 on October 7th.

Maddie Schaefer paced Parkway Central's offense, picking up 16 kills. Schaefer got some help from Taylor Jesse and her 27 assists. Abby Butero controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Despite the defeat, Parkway North saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hannah Schrumpf had 11 digs. Schrumpf is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Parkway Central has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-11-2 record this season. As for Parkway North, their loss dropped their record down to 15-13.

Coming up, Parkway Central will venture away from home to square off against Burroughs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Parkway North does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
