Football Recap: Vero Beach Beats Central for Their Fifth Straight Win

Vero Beach was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They came out on top against the Central Cobras by a score of 21-13. The 21-point effort marked the Indians' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Vero Beach got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Efrem White out in front who rushed for 141 yards and two scores, and also threw for 38 yards and one touchdown. Jonathan Hillsman was another key back, rushing for 129 yards while picking up 7.6 yards per carry.

Vero Beach's run defense was locked in: Central could only muster 2.6 yards per carry. The team can thank Maqarie Philip for the heroic effort on defense: he. Vero Beach didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.5.
