Baseball Game Preview: Poca Dots vs. Teays Valley Christian Lions

The Poca Dots will head out on the road to square off against the Teays Valley Christian Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Teays Valley Christian took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Poca, who comes in off a win.

Poca took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over Hannan. The high-scoring effort was just what the Dots needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

The team relied heavily on Colton Dunbar, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Daniel Burns also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Poca was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hannan only posted a batting average of .304.

Meanwhile, Teays Valley Christian suffered their biggest loss since April 15, 2024 on Saturday. They came up short against Buffalo, falling 19-5. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Teays Valley Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Poca, the victory snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 3-13 record.

Poca couldn't quite get it done against Teays Valley Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 9-4. Can the Dots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
