Baseball Recap: Smith Academy Comes Up Short

Smith Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lee Wildcats.

Smith Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Wilcox, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one double. That double was Wilcox's first of the season.

Smith Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Lee, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-12.

As of now, neither Smith Academy nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
