Basketball Recap: Milo Richtel Key Part of a Team Effort in Mustangs Win

There's no place like home for Dawson School, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They managed a 53-48 victory over the Clear Creek Golddiggers on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mustangs also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Dawson School got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Milo Richtel out in front who went 5 for 12 on his way to 18 points in addition to five boards and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Richtel a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Isaiah Tu, who went 8 of 14 en route to 22 points.

When it comes to explaining why Clear Creek lost, don't look at Zephyrus Schuessler. Despite the final result, he went 9 for 20 on his way to 29 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Schuessler is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Wyatt Huff was another key player, putting up seven points and five boards.

Dawson School has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season. As for Clear Creek, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Dawson School will square off against Estes Park at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Clear Creek has already played their next contest, a 61-45 defeat against Vail Mountain on the 3rd.
