Basketball Recap: Central Valley Takes Down North Central in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Central Valley had no trouble coming through when it counted. They skirted past the North Central Wolfpack 61-59. The victory was familiar territory for the Bears, who have now won three matches in a row.

Despite the loss, North Central still got an impressive performance from Makai Daniels, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 13 boards. Daniels' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Wright, who posted 14 points and eight rebounds.

Central Valley pushed their record up to 12-10 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points over those games. As for North Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-7.

Looking ahead, Central Valley will take on Mt. Spokane at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Mt. Spokane's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games. As for North Central, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against University at 6:00 p.m. University knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully North Central likes a good challenge.
