York is a perfect 4-0 against Proviso East since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Dukes will square off against the Pirates at 10:00 a.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for York and 20 for Proviso East.

Things were looking good for York after they put the first run on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 14-4 to Oak Park-River Forest. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Dukes have suffered since April 3rd.

Ryan Lisowski made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run. Josh Fleming was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Proviso East's offense. They came up short against Downers Grove South on Thursday, falling 11-0.

York's loss dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Proviso East, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-22.

York took their win against Proviso East when the teams last played back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 24-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dukes since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
