Basketball Game Preview: Aurora Greenmen vs. Tallmadge Blue Devils

Aurora and Tallmadge are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. The Aurora Greenmen will head out to take on the Tallmadge Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Aurora will be strutting in after a win while Tallmadge will be coming in after a defeat.

Aurora is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Cuyahoga Falls: they outscored them in every quarter. Aurora took down Cuyahoga Falls 48-29 on Saturday. That looming 48-29 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Greenmen yet this season.

Tallmadge has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-47 heartbreaker at the hands of Revere. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Blue Devils came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Minutemen are ranked 440th).

Tallmadge's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Aurora, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-8.

Aurora couldn't quite finish off Tallmadge in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 and fell 55-53. Can Aurora avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
