Owyhee faced Eagle in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Storm blew past the Mustangs 9-1. Considering the Storm have won 18 contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Hailey Brennan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Grace Brooks and Kenadi Garrett did most of the damage at the plate: Brooks went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Garrett went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Haiylee Reeves was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Owyhee hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eagle struck out nine times.

Owyhee pushed their record up to 27-1 with the victory, which was their 23rd straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Eagle, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-6.

As of now, neither Owyhee nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
