Softball Recap: Northern Cambria Comes Up Short

If Northern Cambria was feeling good fresh off their 12-2 takedown of Conemaugh Township on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Colts lost 9-1 to the Moshannon Valley Black Knights/Damsels on Monday. The Colts were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Black Knights/Damsels apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Northern Cambria saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexa Fox, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Fox is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played.

Northern Cambria's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Moshannon Valley, they moved to 5-9 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northern Cambria will square off against Conemaugh Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Moshannon Valley, they will take on Glendale at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
