Baseball Recap: Pembroke's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Pembroke had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They put the hurt on the Newfane Panthers with a sharp 12-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won nine matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Jacob Johnson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Johnson was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jayden Bridge was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Octavius Martin also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Pembroke kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.

Pembroke's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Newfane, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Pembroke does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Newfane, they will square off against Webber at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
