Softball Recap: Meridian Yellowjackets vs. Itasca Wampus Cats

Meridian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 15-5 to the Itasca Wampus Cats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wampus Cats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-3 back in March.

Addyson Scott made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Dyna Potter, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meridian's record now sits at 0-8. As for Itasca, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9.

Coming up, Meridian will be playing in front of their home fans against Italy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Yellowjackets will need to watch out since the Gladiators have now posted at least ten runs in their last seven contests. As for Itasca, they will welcome Frost at 5:00 p.m. on the 11th.
