Softball Recap: Cleveland Heights Takes a Loss

Cleveland Heights had lost four straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 3-8 to make it five. They lost 26-0 to the Brunswick Blue Devils. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 17-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Cleveland Heights saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vivian Portner, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

As for Brunswick, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-3. Considering they have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

On Brunswick's side, Kaelyn Stolarski was incredible, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with six RBI, two runs, and one double. Bri Flanigan was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cleveland Heights will host Shaker Heights at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Brunswick, they will square off against Keystone at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 9.7 runs per game this season.
