Basketball Game Preview: Manzano Monarchs vs. Santa Fe Demons

Manzano and Santa Fe are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Manzano Monarchs will face off against the Santa Fe Demons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Manzano will bounce into Friday's game after beating Eldorado, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. Manzano narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Eldorado 53-50. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Monarchs.

Meanwhile, Santa Fe was able to grind out a solid win over Capital on Wednesday, taking the game 45-34.

Manzano has also been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.6 points per game. As for Santa Fe, their record now sits at 10-7.

Manzano strolled past Santa Fe in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a score of 39-25. Will Manzano repeat their success, or does Santa Fe have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
