Softball Recap: Buchholz Gets the Win

It's playoff time, and Buchholz had no trouble coming through when it counted. They had just enough and edged out the Bartram Trail Bears 6-5. This was a revenge game for the Bobcats: when they faced off against the Bears on April 9th, they had to take a 14-8 defeat.

Jurnee Reed spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Jayda Cooper was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Cooper, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one double.

The win got Buchholz back to even at 12-12. As for Bartram Trail, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-11 record this season.

Buchholz will square off against Oakleaf at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Knights have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Bartram Trail does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
