Governor Thomas Johnson lost to North Hagerstown back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Governor Thomas Johnson Patriots walked away with a 70-62 victory over the North Hagerstown Hubs.

Despite the loss, North Hagerstown saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brayden Cespedes went 9-for-14 on his way to 21 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Cespedes a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Somerville, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 15 boards.

Governor Thomas Johnson's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for North Hagerstown, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 13-5 record this season.

Coming up, Governor Thomas Johnson will take on North Hagerstown at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. North Hagerstown knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Governor Thomas Johnson likes a good challenge. As for North Hagerstown, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 77-49 victory against Boonsboro on the 14th.
