Basketball Recap: Wethersfield Comes Up Short

Wethersfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 48-28 to the Newington Nor'easters. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 49-28 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2025.

Wethersfield's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Newington, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Wethersfield will take on Southington at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Newington, they will square off against Platt at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
