Baseball Recap: Toll Gate Finds Home Field Redemption Against Narragansett

There's no place like home for Toll Gate, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Narragansett Mariners on Monday.

The result came thanks to Jack Colvin's shutout, as he gave up just five hits and racked up six Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Toll Gate is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-15 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Toll Gate's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jonah LaFauci, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Toll Gate's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-15. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Narragansett, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-10.

Coming up, Toll Gate will face off against Central at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Narragansett does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
