Softball Game Preview: Community School of Naples Seahawks vs. Seacrest Country Day Stingrays

Community School of Naples is 1-7 against Seacrest Country Day since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Community School of Naples Seahawks will venture away from home to square off against the Seacrest Country Day Stingrays at 4:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Things were looking good for Community School of Naples after they put the first points on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Everglades City by a score of 14-13. While the Seahawks didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Gators 5-0 in the first period.

Meanwhile, Seacrest Country Day suffered their closest loss since April 13, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Oasis by a score of 4-2.

Caroline Porter put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. Porter was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Porter wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Dailin 'D' Delgado, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Seacrest Country Day's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Community School of Naples, their record is now 0-2.

Community School of Naples suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Seacrest Country Day in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Community School of Naples avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
