Newark Catholic's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They never let the Liberty Christian Academy Eagles get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. The Green Wave might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by nine runs or more this season.

Veronica Bailey (2026) made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

In other batting news, Jahni Whitney (2027) was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was MacKenzie Gebhart (2026), who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and two runs.

Newark Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Liberty Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .125.

Newark Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Liberty Christian Academy, their loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-13.

Looking ahead, Newark Catholic will host Ridgewood at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. The Green Wave are facing the Generals at the right time seeing as the Generals are stuck on a four-game losing streak. Liberty Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
