Baseball Game Preview: Stone Tomcats vs. Wayne County War Eagles + Official Tickets

For the second straight game, Stone will face off against Wayne County. The Tomcats will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the War Eagles at 6:30 p.m.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Stone turned things around against Wayne County on Tuesday. They came out on top against the War Eagles by a score of 12-8. The game was the first time the Tomcats have beaten the War Eagles on their field since March 21, 2024.

Ayden Obenhaus made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kellan Burge was excellent, going 3-for-5 with three runs and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Carter Williams was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Wayne County is on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-17. As for Stone, their victory bumped their record up to 14-12.
