Aspen won the last time they faced Basalt and things went their way on Thursday too. The Skiers put the hurt on the Longhorns with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Skiers.
Aspen walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-8, 25-19.
Brooke Jewell paced Aspen's offense, picking up 14 kills. Jewell got some help from Belle Sinclair and her 25 assists. Sinclair also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Ava Braley, each putting up three.
Aspen's win bumped their record up to 17-5. As for Basalt, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
After both having extra time off, Aspen and Moffat County will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 2:00 p.m. on November 1. As for Basalt, they have already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Soroco on the 25th.
