Softball Recap: Community School of Naples Victorious

Community School of Naples proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 15) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Seacrest Country Day Stingrays, sneaking past 9-8. This was a revenge game for the Seahawks: when they faced off against the Stingrays last Monday, they had to take a 10-0 loss.

Chloe Zimm spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and seven unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up eight Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game.

At the plate, Lily Campbell was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Addy Novak, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Community School of Naples' victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Seacrest Country Day, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Community School of Naples will host South Fort Myers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Seacrest Country Day will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Everglades City at 4:00 p.m. on March 25th.
