Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Lainey Hamaker and Macy Curtis Lead Frankton to Victory

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Frankton's strategy against Tipton on Thursday. The Frankton Eagles were the clear victor by a 49-24 margin over the Tipton Blue Devils. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Frankton was led to victory by Macy Curtis and Lainey Hamaker. Curtis dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds, while Hamaker posted ten points. The dominant performance also gave Curtis a new career-high in blocks (five). Gabbi Reed also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Frankton was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tipton only posted four assists.

Mackenzie Farinella and Hollyn Wilson certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Farinella dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 boards, while Wilson earned two points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Frankton is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points per game. As for Tipton, they dropped their record down to 2-16 with the loss, which was their 20th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Frankton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 56-23 victory against Madison-Grant on the 18th. As for Tipton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-24 defeat against Hamilton Heights on the 18th.
