Baseball Preview: Grayson County Cougars vs. Edmonson County Wildcats

Grayson County and Edmonson County are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2017, but likely not for long. The Grayson County Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Edmonson County Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Last Tuesday, Grayson County made easy work of Trinity and carried off an 11-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Grayson County.

Jeren Vanmeter spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Levi Rogers was incredible, going 2-for-4 with a home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrett Bradley, who went 3-for-3 with a triple and a run.

Meanwhile, Edmonson County waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Colonels 16-1.

Grayson County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Edmonson County, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6.
