Preview: Sequoyah vs. McMinn Central
Sequoyah will be defending their home turf for the first time on Friday when they go up against McMinn Central in at 7:30 PM. Sequoyah has the odds in their favor, so they'll need to guard against complacency.
Sequoyah had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They blew past Tellico Plains 41-13. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-13.
Meanwhile, McMinn Central had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They were given a punishing 0-39 loss at the hands of McMinn County. McMinn Central were down by 0-31 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Sequoyah's lifted them to 1-0 while McMinn Central's defeat dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Sequoyah can add another positive mark to their record or if McMinn Central can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Sequoyah's step.
