Football Game Preview: NSU University Sharks vs. Westminster Academy Lions

Two dominant signal callers in Jayden Miller and Cortland Brownfield are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The NSU University Sharks will face off against the Westminster Academy Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

NSU University is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They strolled past Florida Christian with points to spare, taking the game 41-27. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Sharks.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Westminster Academy faced off against Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy on Friday. The Lions sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 33-30 victory over the Tigers.

NSU University better keep an eye on Robert Donald. He was instrumental in Westminster Academy's win, picking up 93 receiving yards and two touchdowns. An impressive showing, but Donald really ramped things up playing D: he made nine total tackles and defended two passes in addition to snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget DJ Pierce, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

NSU University's record is now 7-4. As for Westminster Academy, their record now sits at 8-2.

NSU University suffered a grim 41-20 defeat to Westminster Academy in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Sharks were down 28-7.
